Family Ursidae


The Ursidae family contains the largest terrestrial predators of any species. Species in this family are opportunistic and omnivorous. Habitat types utilized by ursids are varied.

The Ursidae family
  • have poorly developed visual and auditory sense, when compared to other members of the order Carnivora.
  • rely primarily on strongly developed olfactory senses.
  • are generally able to sprint quickly, though they tend to have robust physiques.
